Manic Panic hair dyes can be used to achieve intensely bright colours on hair that has been pre-lightened to a light blonde but may achieve a pastel colour on natural blonde hair. For intense results the hair should be porous, bleached or tinted. A strand test is recommended to verify colour on your particular hair.

 

What Exactly Does Semi-Permanent Mean?

Semi-permanent means that the dye will fade over time.

Manic Panic does not contain chemicals. They are conditioning semi-permanent hair colours that can be used to achieve intensely bright colours on hair that has been pre-lightened to a light blonde but may achieve a pastel colour on natural blonde hair.

Do I need to bleach?

If you are wanting a bright bold result then yes you need to bleach just prior to dyeing. Bleach does two things, it lightens the hair and opens the hair. If you do not want to bleach your hair before applying the dye ensure you do a test patch first to ensure you will be happy with the results.

 

How Long Will it Last?

On average Manic Panic Original lasts around 3-4 weeks, Manic Panic Amplified lasts around 4-5 weeks but how long it lasts can depend on how well your hair takes to it, whether your hair was bleached prior to dying and what colour you bleached it down to, and how you look after your hair after application.
 

How do I do Streaking or Multi-Colours Using These Dyes?

In both situations, you must isolate your hair. When streaking, make sure you either wrap the hair you want to colour with plastic wrap or foil, and rinse the colour out CAREFULLY ... making sure the coloured hair doesn't touch your other hair. Doing multiple colours is very tricky. You need to do one colour at a time. The key from start to finish is dye to dry, dye to dry etc.

What is the Best Way to Clean Up Afterwards?

Toothpaste and Jiff are great products to use to clean dye stains from bathroom porcelain and skin. It works surprisingly well if applied right away.
