What is the difference between Patent, PU, Stretch and Leather material?

Patent, either patent leather or patent pu, the latter being a man made material, has a very shiny, almost mirror like appearance. Pu, short for polyurethane, is a semi-shiny to non-shiny man made material designed to be less expensive than leather. Stretch, either patent or pu, is a thin, stretchable material, which allows it to fit to the contours of the feet or legs. Leather, usually having a supple and comfortable feel and with a texture pattern, is the highest quality material of all used in shoe making.

How do you convert mens shoe sizing to a womens sizing?

Shoes fit differently. Our best rule of thumb is a two-size increase. A man’s 9 converts to a woman’s 11. Please check our conversion chart at the bottom of this page for more information.

How can I remove glue marks on the shoes?

Use lighter fluid. Ordinary lighter fluid applied to a white rag will remover the glue. You can also use glue thinner which can be purchased from any shoe repair shop.

How can I clean a shoe in patent material?

Use Patent Glow, which is one of the accessory items we sell. Do NOT use water or alcohol as they may rid the material of its shininess.

How do I work out my shoe size?

Below is a sizing chart to help work out your shoe size. You need to measure your actual foot (not footwear) from heal to toe. It is best to measure your feet at the end of the day, when your feet are the largest. Wear the socks you'll wear with your new shoes when you measure. Be sure to measure both feet as sometimes one may be larger than the other. If this is the case, choose your size according to the larger foot.

To get the most acurate measurement: While standing place your heel against a wall, mark where you toes are with a measuring tape take the measurement from the wall to where you marked where your toe was. Below the chart will show what US size you are according to the measurement obtained. The reason you place your heel against a wall for taking the measurement is that since your heel is round it is almost near impossible to get an accurate measurement without it guiding where the true end of your heel is.
